Our First Look at The LINQ

It was another glorious day (the weather this month has been ridiculously good) so we decided to leave the climate controlled confines of the Forum Shops and cross the street for our first look at the un-climate controlled LINQ, Caesars new open air entertainment district that is anchored by the High Roller observation wheel.

Entrance to The LINQ

Yes, I think that used to be O’Sheas.

The road that used to go between The Flamingo and O’Sheas (which has been moved) is now the LINQ; an open air retail/dining district that visitors can enjoy as they walk to and from the High Roller which, as you probably know, is coming soon. While generic in design, it’s a pleasant area with paved streets and mature palm trees.

LINQ

No prizes for guessing what the first store/restaurant is…… Starbucks! What else would you expect? Master-planning at it’s finest!

Starbucks at The LINQ

Next door to Starbucks is the somewhat suggestively named Haute Doggery, a gourmet hot dog hot spot. We didn’t go inside but it’s the latest addition to Block 16’s growing list of Strip restaurants (Holsteins, Public House, Pink’s).

Next up was The Purple Zebra, a self serve daiquiri bar. They have brightly dressed girls offering free samples and this time the door was open so we did go inside. It’s basically styled after a self-serve froyo joint, but instead of yogurt you serve yourself up a daiquiri, or non-alcoholic slushie. The best part is the selection of souvenir cups. We expect the leg cup, complete with heels and hose (I think I just came up with a new name for a nightclub) to be dominating the Strip soon.

Across the street is KOTO, a boutique gift and accessories store. KOTO Vegas is the companies 4th store, other locations being Aspen, Miami, and Newport Beach.

Around the corner from KOTO is Chayo Mexican Kitchen + Tequila Bar. We stopped in for lunch and you can read about our visit here.

Last, but not least is the new (and improved?) O’Sheas Casino and Bar. Irish Margarita anyone?

Linq High Roller

The road to the High Roller ends here, for now.

We will be happy to hear your thoughts
