There was a lot of excitement for some new blood on Fremont Street when Fitzgerald’s was reopened as The D in late 2012. This steakhouse at the Plaza is heavily influenced by former Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman. Vic & Anthony’s comes at you with the atmosphere you’d expect from a traditional high end steakhouse. Hugo’s Cellar
Hugo’s Cellar is one of the most famed but not famous restaurants in Las Vegas. Walking into the restaurant is almost like stepping into a time machine when it comes to atmosphere, decor and service. Hugo’s has an environment that you won’t elsewhere in Las Vegas. This is a cellar(ish) concept and you actually walk down a few stairs into the restaurant. You are then walked to your table by a host wearing a tuxedo. All women are greeted with a long-stemmed red rose. In true old Vegas fashion every salad is prepared table side. You’re visiting Hugo’s Cellar for a great meal but you’ll walk away with the memory of a unique atmosphere you may never experience anywhere else.

I was in Vegas this spring and ate at the. Andiamo steakhouse. It was hands down the best steak I have ever had . The bone in rib was outof thisworld …Can’t wait to go back.
You can’t mention steak in Downtown Las Vegas without mentioning the Second Street Grill located in the Fremont. It is by far one of the best around although very few people even know it’s there.
I have done Hugos for years for customers. They like the change from the traditional high end.
At Vic and Anthonys, do not miss the sauted mushroom side.
Although Hugo’s has been my favorite Vegas steakhouse for many years, Binion’s comes in at a close second. I didn’t even see Binion’s mentioned on the list? I will take Binion’s any day over Oscar’s for sure.
We have eaten at Oscars several times and enjoy it more each time we go. We really enjoy “broad” Amy. She has been there for several years. Oscar u done good!!!
I’ve been to Andiamo and Triple George Grill love them both. Andiamo comes with a bigger price tag but we’ll worth it. The difference between the two is the service at Triple George was more my style professional and attentive yet not too stuffy more laid back atmosphere. My server ftom Hawaii couldn’t have had more personality. He told my wife and I the history of the restaurant and alot about downtown old and new definetly go back to both places.
Since I moved to Las Vegas in 1980 I have eaten at a lot of our local steak houses in and out of casinos. Hugo’s Cellar has the best atmosphere hands down. The California Hotel’s steakhouse Redwood Bar and Grill, has the best Chateubriand I have ever had. I have eaten at Oscar’s on more than one occasion. Even before it was Oscar’s. Center Stage I think it was called before. I have never had a good experience yet!!! However, I have had the distinct pleasure to dine at Triple George on many occasions since they opened. Let me just say this- they ARE by far the best well rounded restaurant. Fabulous food, ambiance and great service!!! The general manager even remembers your name. If you want the best bar drinks in town, Triple George is your place to be!!!
